Leading refrigerated vehicle supplier Petit Forestier recently lent its support to the OppO Foundation by providing a temperature-controlled vehicle for a charity cricket match held at the iconic Windsor Castle. This partnership underscores Petit Forestier’s commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.
Founded in 2014, the OppO Foundation is dedicated to supporting ex-military personnel and their families facing challenges related to disability, mental health, or financial hardship. The charity aims to provide targeted assistance to those who have served the country, helping them transition back into civilian life.
The event, held at Windsor Castle, brought together players and spectators for a day of sport and camaraderie. Petit Forestier supplied a brand new 3.5-tonne box van, ensuring that food and drinks were stored at the perfect temperature to keep everyone refreshed throughout the match. This service was provided free of charge, reflecting Petit Forestier’s dedication to supporting worthwhile causes.
The vehicle was transported from Petit Forestier’s Dartford depot to Windsor Castle, where it joined a host of dignitaries, including HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, Paralympians, and former Olympic silver medalists Jamie Baulch and Ewan Thomas, who both competed in the 1996 Atlanta Games. Their presence added a touch of prestige to the event, highlighting the importance of supporting ex-military personnel.
Robert Bradshaw, Leidos Senior Key Account Manager and RAF Reserves member, expressed his gratitude to Petit Forestier for their assistance. “We were delighted that Petit Forestier could support us with this fantastic charity event,” he said. “From our initial inquiry through to the delivery of the vehicle on the day, they couldn’t have been more accommodating. It shows that there are good companies and nice people who recognise the sacrifices made by military personnel to keep our country safe. Our thanks to the whole Petit Forestier team for making it happen.”
Garrey Ashton, Business Development Manager at Petit Forestier, also spoke highly of the collaboration. “The OppO Foundation is a remarkable charity doing amazing things for ex-military personnel,” he said. “When we received the initial inquiry, we knew instantly that we wanted to help. Our expertise in the cold chain sector allowed us to provide a vehicle for the day that kept players and spectators refreshed. We’re always happy to support worthy charities where we can, and we are delighted that everyone enjoyed the day.”
The successful partnership between Petit Forestier and the OppO Foundation exemplifies how businesses can contribute to charitable initiatives while enhancing community spirit. As the event showcased, the collective effort of local organisations can have a significant impact on the lives of those who have served in the armed forces.
Through events like this, the OppO Foundation continues its vital work in supporting ex-military personnel and their families, ensuring they receive the help and recognition they deserve.
