A Shropshire-based public relations company has given a boost to local grassroots girls’ football by sponsoring the Newport Girls Under 12 Panthers team. Be Bold Media, a prominent PR firm, has provided funding for new equipment and kits for the youth team, which trains weekly at Harper Adams University, located just across from Be Bold’s offices at the Midlands Agri-Tech Innovation Hub.
Amy Bould, managing director of Be Bold Media, explained that the partnership felt like a natural fit for the company. “This sponsorship opportunity was a perfect match for us. Aside from the fact that we are all a bit football mad at Be Bold, the team trains just across the road from our office,” she said. “It’s always a privilege to support local community groups and sports teams, and Newport Girls is no exception.”
The sponsorship comes at a time when interest in girls’ football is on the rise, partly fuelled by the success and popularity of England’s Lionesses, whose achievements have inspired many young players across the country. Bould expressed her excitement about helping support a new generation of players in Shropshire. “With girls’ football gaining momentum due to the inspiration and success of our national Lionesses team, we are really excited to support the next generation of football talent. Clubs like Newport Girls offer tremendous value to the local community, and we wish the team every success this season.”
The Newport Girls Panthers compete in the Shropshire FA Girls League, playing against youth teams from across the county. The league provides a platform for young girls to develop their skills and enjoy the benefits of competitive sport. Be Bold Media’s contribution will help ensure that the Newport team is well-prepared for the season, equipped with high-quality gear and the tools needed to enhance their training sessions.
Mark Harden, manager of the Newport Girls Panthers, expressed his gratitude for Be Bold’s support, noting that it has provided a much-needed boost for the club. “As a small, up-and-coming team, we really appreciate the support shown by Be Bold Media. It means we’ve been able to invest in new equipment and kits for our training and match preparations, which is fantastic,” he said.
Harden highlighted the importance of this sponsorship for the team, explaining that having access to the right equipment and well-fitting, professional kits can make a real difference to players’ confidence and performance. He also shared his enthusiasm for the team’s future, mentioning that the players have been inspired by England’s recent success on the international stage.
For Be Bold Media, the sponsorship reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting community initiatives in Shropshire, especially those that promote youth development and inclusion in sports. As Bould noted, Be Bold’s involvement with Newport Girls is not just about providing financial assistance but about fostering a relationship with a local team and following their journey throughout the season. “We look forward to watching their progress and hopefully attending a game or two,” she added.
The support from Be Bold Media has brought excitement and encouragement to the Newport Panthers, setting them up for a promising season as they compete in the Shropshire FA Girls League.
