Knowvate Hub, a dynamic community dedicated to supporting ethnic minority entrepreneurs, is thrilled to announce the launch of its Ideation Bootcamp programme in Scotland this autumn. Designed to empower Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) entrepreneurs, this initiative aims to help them transform innovative ideas into thriving businesses while enhancing the early stages of their entrepreneurial journey.
Founded by visionary entrepreneurs Onyinye Igbokwe and Enoch Adeyemi, Knowvate Hub is committed to fostering diversity within Scotland’s business ecosystem. The Ideation Bootcamp is a key part of this mission, providing aspiring entrepreneurs with the essential tools, skills, and knowledge needed to launch successful startups. This programme is being delivered in partnership with the Royal Bank of Scotland and will take place across two Scottish cities—Aberdeen from September 18th to 20th, and Glasgow from October 2nd to 4th, 2024.
Emeka Ebeniro, Growth Marketer and Programme Coordinator at Knowvate Hub, explained the vision behind the bootcamp: “Our goal is to help people bring their ideas to life and support early-stage founders in developing thriving businesses. We have industry leaders coming to impact these founders and assist them in building technology-enabled businesses that are scalable. Ultimately, we aim to showcase Scotland’s fast-growing tech and business ecosystem to the world.”
The three-day bootcamp is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive overview of entrepreneurship, covering key topics such as ideation techniques, effective pitching, and business growth strategies. Attendees will develop crucial skills including brand identity creation, lean business model canvas development, and the construction of winning sales funnels. By the end of the programme, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and confidence to embark on their entrepreneurial journeys.
A distinguished lineup of speakers has been confirmed for the bootcamp, bringing together a wealth of expertise and experience to guide participants. Notable speakers include:
- Dr. Yekemi Otaru, CEO of YO Ventures LTD and Chancellor at the University of the West of Scotland
- Keye Oduneye, Communication Specialist and Transformative Leadership Consultant
- Mandy Bailey, Accelerator Community Manager at the Royal Bank of Scotland
- Enoch Adeyemi, Co-founder of Knowvate Hub
- Onyinye Igbokwe, Co-founder of Knowvate Hub
- Kevin Walls, COO of Scottish Edge
- Davie Sneddon, Sales Geek
This initiative arrives at a critical moment when diversity in entrepreneurship is increasingly recognised as a driving force behind innovation and economic growth. Knowvate Hub’s focus on BAME entrepreneurs addresses a significant gap in the startup ecosystem, contributing to a more inclusive and diverse business landscape in Scotland.
The Ideation Bootcamp is supported by several key players within Scotland’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, including Startup Grind Scotland, Codebase, Scottish Edge, and the Royal Bank of Scotland. These partnerships enhance the programme by providing participants with access to an extensive network of support and opportunities, further empowering them to succeed in their ventures.
