A Glasgow-based energy consultancy firm, Renew-Able, has secured a series of new business wins, including a significant seven-figure contract in the Caribbean. This major success comes as part of the company’s ambitious expansion plans, which include doubling its workforce over the next three years and supporting over 500 businesses in their journey toward energy efficiency.
Renew-Able, often described as a “one stop shop” for energy solutions, provides consultancy and installation services for solar panels, heat pumps, and other energy-saving technologies. The company works with a variety of sectors, including luxury hotels, golf courses, engineering, manufacturing, and commercial properties. With a growing portfolio of projects, Renew-Able is positioning itself as a key player in helping businesses reduce their energy costs and achieve their net-zero goals by 2030.
The recent expansion into the Caribbean market is a notable achievement for the company, particularly as it secures a major contract with a government agency in Barbados. This contract, worth seven figures, involves consultancy and design services for solar panel PV systems. Renew-Able’s Managing Director, Emanuel Howell, who was born in Jamaica and has a long-standing connection to the Caribbean, sees this as a significant step forward for the company.
Emanuel Howell shared his enthusiasm for the company’s recent successes: “It’s an exciting time for Renew-Able, and we’re looking to grow the company further after a series of new business wins. Securing such a significant contract in the Caribbean is a major milestone for us and reflects the ambition we have as a company. We’re focused on tailoring energy solutions that best suit our customers and helping them achieve their sustainability goals.”
Since its founding in 2020, Renew-Able has made a name for itself in the energy consultancy sector. Howell, who began his career in renewable energy in 2005, started the firm out of frustration with the lack of a comprehensive service for businesses seeking the most appropriate energy solutions. Renew-Able now offers a wide range of services, from consultancy to the installation of solar panels, heat pumps, and other energy-efficient technologies.
The company’s recent wins include contracts to install new heating solutions at one of Scotland’s most luxurious hotels and several golf courses across the country. Renew-Able is also working on projects for a prestigious hotel chain in England, further expanding its reach within the UK.
Renew-Able operates with a core team of 12 employees and utilises a network of subcontractors for larger projects. The company is committed to supporting businesses across Scotland and the UK in their efforts to become more energy-efficient. They also run a subsidiary called Energy How, which offers similar consultancy and installation services to homeowners in Central Scotland.
Howell emphasised the company’s approach: “We see ourselves as a solution provider, rather than just focusing on installing one particular product. Our goal is to find the right energy solution for each business, whether that’s solar, heating, or another technology. For many businesses, energy is one of their top expenses, so it’s crucial to get it right. We aim to help companies reduce costs while also supporting them in becoming more sustainable.”
Looking ahead, Renew-Able has plans to host a conference at the SEC Arena in Glasgow next year. The event will focus on how businesses can become more sustainable, with guest speakers from various sectors sharing insights and strategies for achieving energy efficiency and sustainability.
